Rise Together

We are happy to report that our Rise Together Campaign to retire medical debt, which we started last summer, was a great success. We eradicated a staggering $2.6 million in debt for 1,102 low-income and BIPOC families living in Syracuse, rural Onondaga County, and Cortland County. These areas were chosen because their residents hold the highest levels of medical debt in New York State. The beneficiaries will soon receive notification from the RIP Medical Debt office that their debt has been abolished and has been deleted from their credit reports. The FUSIT monthly theme for November is generosity in action. Thank you all for helping it happen.
