Sundae Sunday

When

09/13/2026
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Bring the entire family for connection, fun, and ice cream sundaes! First Unitarian Universalist Society of Ithaca had a crucial role in the creation of the ice cream sundae. According to VisitIthaca.com, the Ice Cream Sundae was invented by UU Ithaca treasurer Chester C. Platt and first eaten by UU Ithaca’s Rev. John Scott on April 3, 1892. This adds to our rich history of connectedness with Ithaca and the Tompkins County community. We are excited to celebrate our annual Sundae Sunday following the first service of the church year in the Garden Street Entrance on Aurora Street. We will be serving delicious sundaes with Purity ice cream and plenty of toppings, including vegan options.
