Sundae Sunday
Sunday, September 13 from 12 – 1 pm<\/strong>
Bring the entire family for connection, fun, and ice cream sundaes! First Unitarian Universalist Society of Ithaca had a crucial role in the creation of the ice cream sundae. According to VisitIthaca.com, the Ice Cream Sundae was invented by UU Ithaca treasurer Chester C. Platt and first eaten by UU Ithaca\u2019s Rev. John Scott on April 3, 1892. This adds to our rich history of connectedness with Ithaca and the Tompkins County community. We are excited to celebrate our annual Sundae Sunday following the first service of the church year in the Garden Street Entrance on Aurora Street. We will be serving delicious sundaes with Purity ice cream and plenty of toppings, including vegan options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September Board of Trustees Meeting
Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30 pm<\/strong>
Meets in the Arch room and over Zoom
The Board usually meets on the third Wednesday of the month. Meetings are a hybrid format, currently taking place in the Arch room and through Zoom. All UU Ithaca members are invited to attend these meetings. Ten minutes are set aside at the beginning of the meeting for congregation feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12 – 1:30 pm in the UU Ithaca Library<\/strong>
Please join us for our drop in Care Cafes. These meetings are facilitated by Emily Richards, Christine Kapral, and Rev. Janet Shortall and offer a space for rich and honest conversions that foster connection. Childcare available upon request. Contact dre@uuithaca.org.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pub Theology
Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30 pm<\/strong>
Liquid State Brewing, 620 West Green St.
Join us at Liquid State Brewing for an evening of good fellowship and conversation at our favorite local brewery (owned by UU Ithaca members!). We will gather at 6:30 pm and reflect together on our monthly theme of Beginnings. Non-beer and non-alcoholic drinks options available! 21 and over please. Bring your friends! Hope to see you there! Pub Theology takes place on the 4th Tuesday of every month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free Community Yoga
September 26 from 12 – 1 pm<\/strong>
Meet Director of Religious Education (and certified yoga teacher) Madeline at Yoga Farm Ithaca, 129 W. Falls Street, for a FREE community yoga class! This class is open to anyone at UU Ithaca and any friends or family from the greater Ithaca community. Awaken the power within you through mantra, gentle movement, breath work and meditation. Yoga and spiritual teachings from the Kundalini Yoga Tradition, through a trauma informed lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women’s Circle
Monday, September 28 at 7 pm<\/strong>
Women’s Circle usually meets via Zoom on the 4th Monday of the month from 7-8:30 pm. All who identify as women are welcome. This is a drop-in group, so no need to sign up; just come. Anyone is welcome to bring a poem or a reading. For information or questions, contact office@uuithaca.org or 607-273-7521 ext. 21.
