Flower Communion Service and Annual Potluck
Sunday, June 14 at 10:30 am
Stewart Park, large pavillion <\/strong>
Join us in celebrating the many blessings of being in community. Please bring a flower to add to our bouquets and you will receive a different flower to take home with you! Also, please bring a dish to share for our potluck picnic and your own place settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flower Communion\u00a0is an annual ritual that celebrates beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community. In this ceremony, everyone in the congregation is encouraged to bring a flower, which is placed in a shared vase. The flowers are blessed and redistributed. This ceremony represents how the presence of each one of us changes our community and is also changed by our community. The ceremony also symbolically represents the different gifts that we each bring to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May Board of Trustees Meeting<\/strong>
Wednesday June 17 at 6:30 pm<\/strong>
The Board usually meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm. Board meetings are a hybrid format, currently taking place in the Arch Room and through Zoom. All FUSIT members are invited to attend these meetings. Ten minutes are set aside at the beginning of the meeting for congregation feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women’s Circle
Monday, June 22<\/strong> at 7 pm over Zoom<\/strong>
Women’s Circle usually meets via Zoom on the 4th Monday of the month from 7-8:30 pm. All who identify as women are welcome. This is a drop-in group, so no need to sign up; just come. Anyone is welcome to bring a poem or a reading. For information or questions contact office@uuithaca.org.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE BIBLE AS HISTORY AND LITERATURE, online course. \u2002<\/strong>
In our readings of scripture, the focus of the course is on its literary brilliance and on the changes over the centuries in its conception of deity. Reading and discussion can make half-buried elements in Bible passages visible and sometimes startling. Our text is the Oxford\u00a0Annotated\u00a0Bible,\u00a0available used online\u2014any edition of it, and those interested may join at any time. Classes are Tuesdays afternoons from 3-4:30 pm.\u00a0Led by Anne Winters. Email office@uuithaca.org for Zoom link.
