It was deeded to us by Hazel M. <span data-scayt_word=\"Hauck\" data-scaytid=\"1\">Hauck, an active member,<\/span> in 1964. The Backyard is a sacred trust and there are certain policies in place to maintain it as a natural area. Members and friends of The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Ithaca can visit this site as a place of quiet contemplation and can have their own cremated remains, and those of loved ones, placed at this spot.<\/p>\n<div class=\"feature\">\n<h4>Where is Hazel&#8217;s Backyard?<\/h4>\n<p>It is located on Twin Glens Road, a public road off of Cayuga Heights Road in the Village of Lansing. The use of Hazel&#8217;s Backyard, and a nameplate on Hazel&#8217;s Backyard Memorial Plaque (in the church sanctuary) carry a fee of $150.<\/p>\n<h4>How can you help?<\/h4>\n<p>The Committee is always looking for help to decide how to maintain the property and to actually do the work needed.
