Beacon of Hope – A Christmas Eve Service

When

12/24/2020
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Thursday, December 24, 7:00p – music/7:30p – service

Join us for an evening of candlelight, carols, story, and music as we celebrate Christmas Eve and the power of love to guide us through life’s challenges.

During this service, we will take a Christmas offering, which will be shared with two essential local organizations.

Babies First is a ministry of the First Unitarian Society of Ithaca that provides tangible support and items such as car seats and high chairs to local families in order to care well for their infants and young children.

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is a large network of pantries, soup kitchens, and other support systems designed to help feed people who need it.

During this pandemic time, both of these organizations have been vital to the safety and security of our community. We know that this pandemic is disproportionately impacting those who are on the margins – those who because of race, or gender identity, or immigrant status, or socioeconomic status are often left out, forgotten, or purposefully harmed.  As a commitment to our call to justice and equity in our community, we have decided to match the first $1000 that are raised tonight. This means that your gift will go twice as far to help those in our community who need it most.

Every person has a right to food, to shelter, to clothing and to proper care.

Let us help these things be realized tonight by giving generously, with a Christmas spirit.

With gratitude and abundance in our hearts, this evening’s Christmas offering will now be gratefully given and received.

The Christmas Eve Service will stream on our YouTube channel.
