This program covers the basics of Alzheimer’s and dementia, explores their relationship, examines what happens in a brain affected by Alzheimer’s, details the risk factors and three general stages of the disease, identifies FDA approved treatments available for symptom management, looks ahead to what’s on the horizon for Alzheimer’s research, and offers helpful Alzheimer’s Association resources. Stephanie is a program manager for the Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter. Her primary responsibility is to assure the expansion of quality caregiver programs throughout the southern tier region. In this role, Stephanie also oversees a team of community educator volunteers who assist in the delivery of programs both in-person and virtually. Stephanie is a trained community health professional with 15+ years-experience working in the not-for-profit sector. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Brockport, majoring in health sciences and minoring in biology.
